If you’re considering purchasing a second hand tractor? purchasing an old tractor will raise a few more issues than purchasing a normal second hand farm tractor make and research you should do are the same as those you would make when purchasing anything. Once you are comfortable with what you expect your tractor to do then check and see if the manufacturers that you are familiar with produce it. if there is a tractor manufacturer who has given you great service and great support on your farm then stick with what one. Whatever farm tractor you choose it is essential to invesitgate what are spares are available, what cost they are and if there is somebody in your locality who can service the tractor; this one check could be responsible for saving you considerable time and money in the long run.
An honest-seeming appraisal of the tractor’s condition and status for its age can be a good indicator of the integrity of the source. Whilst online photos cannot tell you everything about a tractor they ought to give some visual sense as to how well a vehicle has been treated and its general condition.
You can then see it running, have a go on it and check out any rattles, bangs or excess smoke. They run roughly $300 to $500 and should be considered to be well worth the investment if purchasing a tractor without a lift. These types of tractors should be avoided. Here is a partial checklist for a simplistic preview of a working tractor: Is the clutch good – the clutch is not that expensive to replace but splitting the tractor in half is beyond what most folks want to do.

Your One-Stop Source For an old tractors for sale
Collecting antique tractors has become a preferred hobby recently. There are some folks who just want a quality working tractor with-out the pricetag of buying a new or late-model machine and don’t have any interest in taking it to a show or placing it on show. Don’t dash in to compiling your list of necessities, take some days to consider it carefully, use this opportunity to read lots of similar articles meet with other farming friends and tractor owners and visit some vintage tractor shows and talk with the players there, they are only two prepared to assist another collector to satisfy their dreams.
Restoration of the mechanical elements is only one aspect of the job.
Tractor restoration has changed into a well-liked hobby in Britain, Australia, New Zealand, and in several are general collectors who sport a bunch of different makes. With a little bit of planning you may be able to find a better that’s's keeps your PTO hp needs in the range twenty-five to 35 depending naturally on the terrain the sort of grass and the weather conditions.
While the advertised h.p. on modern tractors is essentially PTO h.p. or crankshaft h.p., the pony power of early antique tractor was sometimes measured at the drawbar. When it comes to checking a potential tractor purchase, it’s understandable that you would like to fire it up without further delay, the smartest thing you will find is an antifreeze solution, the next best thing is clear water.
In the meantime, you can look for leaks in both the engine and radiator.

Farmer Insurance – Don’t Bet the Farm, Shield Yourself
Farming is a massive operation. Having farmer insurance is most necessary when you consider all the risk involved in owning and running a farm. Farm insurance can help protect you from the loss of a bad crop or the unforeseen disaster of the loss of a heard. Tragedy strikes at inconvenient times, but thankfully there is protection available.
Regardless of whether you inherited your farming business through your family, or decided to take the plunge and start a farm, the costs involved are enormous and the loss of a crop due to frost or hail can be devastating. Farmer insurance acts as protection against complete financial ruin if the unforeseen happens. Not only are crops and animals at risk, but the equipment needed for operation is also very costly. The term ‘farming’ encompasses many types of farm operation; thankfully there is farmer insurance available for each source of revenue.
Farmer insurance covers many potential incidents. Not only does it cover many accidents that may occur on the farm, but it guards against possible litigation. For instance, a consumer could purchase a jar of your jam, get ill and then decide to sue your business. Farmer insurance not only helps cover you in this instance, but will represent you in court if need be. A common policy coverage also involves accidents while operating your farm equipment or performing farming duties. When you stop to think about it, there truly are many ways that a farm is endangered to liability.
Available Farmer Insurance
Before choosing farmer insurance there are factors that must be considered. The most important issue is the type of farm that you operate. Also, how is business commenced? It may be best to write a list and include how many people you employ, the amount and types of equipment that need to be insured and possible liabilities that worry you. The following is a general list of items that need to be insured when operating a farmer.
Crop Insurance: Crop-yield and crop revenue are big concerns to farmers. Since the outcome of the crop determines the livelihood of the entire farm, coverage for the crop is paramount. Farmer insurance generally covers loss due to natural causes. This may include bugs, pests and hazardous weather.
Farm Contents: Most farm equipment is quite costly and can run into the hundreds of thousands. You will want insurance that lists specific equipment individually and provides comprehensive coverage for your equipment. Some policies also cover loss of livestock because of electrocution.
Theft: Theft coverage is not limited to stolen machinery. Often time’s theft on a farm involves livestock including cows, sheep, goats and hogs.
Employers Liability Insurance: If a farmer has one employee, he or she will need liability insurance. The employee needs not to be full-time, they can be an occasional work-hand, but accidents happen and this insurance will cover many potential liabilities.
Fatal Injury of Livestock: Many companies offer farmer insurance that covers the loss of an animal either while on the farm or even while in transit. If an animal dies coverage generally is available for a maximum amount per animal and a maximum per accident. Even working dogs, such as herding dogs, may be covered if fatally injured.
Sheep Coverage: This item helps to cover veterinary bills and loss of sheep due to injury or death.
Business Disruption: Farmer insurance will help protect a farmer when business costs either increase dramatically or profits are suddenly down due to unforeseen incidents.
Shipment of Goods: Your strawberries are safely on their way to market and boom, they’re gone. A loss of income due to crop damage while in transit is protected with this coverage. Loss of livestock is not covered under this coverage since animals are covered separately.
Personal Accident Coverage: If an accident that leads to injury occurs on a farm, this coverage protects against this. As a farmer you are entitled to a settlement if an injury occurs that effects your ability to run the farm as needed.
Personal House and Contents: The farmer’s residence and any additional buildings are covered. If specifically stated, the contents of the home may also be covered.
Summary:
When the protection of farm equipment, livestock and crops are in question, Farmer insurance must be purchased. Farmer insurance will safeguard against financial ruin due to unforeseen occurrences. Common coverage includes loss of income due to theft, crop failure and the death of livestock. A farmer’s personal home and contents are often included with this insurance. Farming is an important line of work and there is insurance available to help protect not only the farm, but the owner.

I bought this special relationship with my cars and trucks, high lift, so I could easily between them. Jack works great, and lift a lot heavier. You can use all sorts of things that lift, but not for all types of vehicles removed. Given the connection to the case where the rest of the grip (the lower jaw-shaped body) is only a few inches long, it can get under the chassis of most cars. Even with the door open, it really gets no risk scratching or other damage to the car. I wonder if there is a way out, but I had this argument because it is not so useful for me as I had hoped. It’s a great product for the type of work, which was designed to do.

great price,great shipping,great product
Bought this jack to help move a 14′X16′storage building. It easily lifted the building(one end at a time)high enough for me to back a trailer underneath.I also used it as a winch to drag the building around to fine tune it’s position before jacking it back up and replacing the support blocks.I saved double what I paid for the jack by not having to pay a large rollback to move the building.I used the Super Saver Shipping(I’m cheap)thinking it would take a week or more to come.Ordered it on Sunday night,it was here Tuesday afternoon. The box was badly damaged, but the jack was not.I can understand that since the jack does have a little weight to it.This tool will do alot, but if you’re not carefull it can hurt you.

hi-lilft jack already payed for itself
I bought my hi-liftjack just for general jacking needs. I didn’t know that I would need it to lift a large tractor weight into the back of a trailer to take to a salvage yard. It worked perfectly though and then was used again to lift the trailer onto the hitch of my truck. Very useful and very easy to use. I would definetely by again.
Hi-LIft is highly regarded
One of the first things I learned surfing the web was that nearly everyone who goes off-road takes a Hi-Lift jack along with them. I used to keep a long bumper jack with me when I went with my CJ-2A and even as bad as that jack was, it got me out of several binds.
So there was no doubt that I would get a Hi-Lift jack as one of my first pieces of off-road gear. I decided to get all the trimmings and go for the 60-inch model since I was not expecting to get an electric winch anytime soon, and the extra length may come in handy if I have to manually winch myself using the jack. Even after I got the electric winch, the Hi-Lift is still on my list of essential gear.
I never leave home without it.
My first mounting system consisted of a 4XRAC and Jack Protector cover. I assembled the brackets to the roof rack with some additional hardware that I purchased.
The Hi-Lift is great. I have no doubt that this is an essential tool to have with you at all times.

Used Tractors – What You Should Consider When Buying Online
It can be an expensive old business purchasing farming equipment. One way that many people now save large amounts of money is by picking up used farm machinery online. Among the most popular items online and potentially some of the best bargains are used tractors.
In addition to cost savings there are other advantages to buying used farming equipment and tractors. Cost savings allow money to be stretched further and a larger fleet employed. Alternatively the cash saved by purchasing used farm equipment can be put to other more cost effective uses.
When considering buying a used tractor it’s wise to consider the brand, model and age with regards to parts availability. The price of parts (and downtime if the parts aren’t readily available) can potentially be prohibitive. In some cases the cost of spares and replacement parts can even make the investment in a tractor or other piece of farm equipment cost ineffective.
You shouldn’t necessarily be afraid of older farm machinery; although it probably won’t have some of the “frills” that you might find more common on newer equipment, it may have more commonly available and better value spare parts. Many dealers admit to the fact that often machinery owners do not take great care of their equipment. It’s more often than not the case that if previous owners haven’t needed to repair something on a piece of machinery then it hasn’t been repaired until absolutely necessary. Therefore, it’s not unreasonable to expect at least some form of minor fault post purchase.
Other things you should consider when buying online include location, location, location. What do I mean? Well, say you do have an issue once you’ve committed to at what at face value appeared a bargain used tractor. It could be an expensive and time-consuming process trying to resolve the problem with a dealer on the other side of the country. Even the initial purchase might involve unforeseen costs. Taking into account hidden costs such as fuel, travel time, hired help, trailer rental and the income you could have earned while staying at home, you may actually have found a better deal by buying locally.
That said if a used tractor walks like a bargain and quacks like a bargain, you can be reasonably sure it is a bargain. Don’t be too suspicious of equipment offered at a low price. Remember that used equipment dealers, especially those online, have lower overheads and expenses than manufacturer dealers that may account for the difference.
Many people don’t actually know a great deal when they see one. If you see a chance take it. So if you’ve done your used tractor research and know what used equipment you want and it’s value – if you think it’s a bargain then it’s probably worth buying it. Do though show appropriate diligence with regards to checking the machinery’s life history, legitimacy and mechanical qualities. Also make a point of checking the item’s paperwork, especially if someone who is not in the used-equipment business is selling it for appreciably less than its book value.
